POSITION OVERVIEW

 

The Assistant Accountant will report to the Finance Manager. The role will support the financial accounting team in meeting its financial accounting, compliance and statutory reporting requirements. He/she will work with a finance team dedicated to supporting Monsters’ developing EMEA business.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Preparation and completion of Bank Reconciliations for several bank accounts including liaising with AP & AR departments to resolve any queries
  • Review monthly parked invoices (non-PO) and non-inventory PO accrual – propose accrual
  • Monthly reconciliation and commentary on several GL accounts
  • VAT return preparation and reconciliation
  • Proposal & reconciliation of monthly accruals for legal costs, professional fee costs and various operating costs
  • Provide analysis and support to external and internal audit requests
  • Assist the financial accountant with the freight month end processes and liaising with the transport team
  • Responsible for maintenance of prepayments and monthly releases
  • Provide analytical support to team as required
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly schedules & BS Analytics with related commentary for provision to senior management and audit committee
  • Assist with ad hoc month end activities
  • Support on ad hoc projects across the finance team
  • Skills and Experience 
  • Part qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)
  • Experience working with a growing company
  • Previous experience of SAP advantageous
  • Experience of intercompany & multicurrency transactions
  • Proficient in the use of MS Outlook & Excel
