he Maintenance Manager is responsible for the smooth running of the day-to-day functions to ensure the overall success and productivity of the maintenance department. The Maintenance Manager is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of all company-owned property. This position requires skilled working knowledge of all maintenance crafts and trades with a high degree of knowledge in many of these trades (i.e. welding, electrical, PLC programming). The Maintenance Manager is the main database administrator for the CMMS maintenance program with responsibilities including the addition of new equipment into the system, entering new & revising existing preventive maintenance tasks, and analyzing data within the system to form conclusions about equipment, personnel, and departmental performance.
This position acts as departmental training coordinator; ensures departmental knowledge levels remain consistent with industry standards and conducts training to achieve this level of knowledge. Responsible for the quality of maintenance performed company-wide and conducts follow-up inspections of completed work to monitor the level of quality and follow safety guidelines. Works with Project Management staff to ensure that projects are completed in a timely manner. May develop, and be responsible for the planning, procurement, and execution of interdepartmental or assigned projects. Must exhibit leadership skills. Must have excellent math and computer skills. All tasks are performed in accordance with GMP and safety guidelines and procedures. This individual must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in ways that foster good relationships with vendors, customers, co-workers and supervisors, while achieving and enhancing performance standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Ultimately responsible for the reliable operation of all company equipment.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to minimize equipment downtime and disruptions.
- Respond to facility and equipment breakdowns, alarms, and system failures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance procedures.
- Responsible for managing all needed resources to allow effective maintenance of all production equipment and support equipment as needed.
- Emails, and schedules meetings with vendors as needed.
- Responsible for departmental spending.
- Responsible for strategic spare part management alongside with purchasing and contract management to meet the company standards and support all the operations in the company within the agreed budget. Overall responsibility for outage planning and delivery of same in a safe and timely manner;

- To carry out checks, inspections and audits as directed
- Administers company Preventive Maintenance program using CMMS maintenance software.
- Periodically reviews of the PM program to ensure completeness.
- Responsible for reviewing the work order program to ensure that work orders are properly evaluated for prioritization, work order content is accurate, and that issuing work orders for necessary repairs are assigned to the proper personnel.
- Ensures all production areas and grounds are maintained in a safe and sanitary condition.
- Responsible for evaluating performance of Maintenance Department personnel.
- Assists EH&S personnel with the maintenance of accurate records relating to regulated equipment (refrigeration systems, pressure vessels, boiler emissions, backflow prevention, wastewater discharge, PITs, etc.).
- Lead and promote a culture of Health and safety and ensure compliance with safe systems of work for employees and contractors. All employees are expected to co-operate fully with all provisions taken by the company for ensuring Health and Safety, and Welfare of co-employees and members of the public using the premises;
- Lead and Performance Manage your direct report(s). Proactively participate in the Performance Management process to ensure delivery of own, and the wider team's objectives;
- To ensure that housekeeping is kept to a high standard around the site and that all activities comply with health and safety requirements.
- Must be available after work hours as emergencies arise.
- Assists Project Management staff in the coordination and execution of company projects.
- Enforce and improve departmental policies and procedures.
